Vooruit-exe

Deze zomer verzamelden zich 17 kunstenaars uit binnen- en buitenland gedurende in week in Gent voor de eerste editie van Summercamp Electrified, een samenwerking tussen Vooruit en Timelab. De stad diende als vertrekpunt voor inspiratie en actie. Na een dag van introducties werd er uitgezwermd over de stad (van de haven tot het Sint-Pietersstation) en kregen kleine ideeën elke dag meer vorm.

Last summer, 17 artists from Belgium and abroad gathered in Ghent for the first edition of the Electrified summer camp, a project by Vooruit and Timelab. The city served as an inspiration and a basis for action. After an introduction day, the artists swarmed out in the city, from the harbour to the Sint-Pieters station, and small ideas took shape day by day.

Er ontstonden verwachte en onverwachte samenwerkingen tussen kunstenaars en er werden concepten geboren waarvan sommige zich verder zullen ontwikkelen in de nasleep van dit eerste Summercamp Electrified. Na een heel intense week boden we geïnteresseerden inkijk op het proces dat de kunstenaars hadden doorlopen via presentaties en performances in de stad en in het Timelab (vlak naast Vooruit). Expected and unexpected collaborations between artists emerged, concepts ensued – some of which will be pursued in the wake of the Electrified summer camp. After an incredibly intense week, we offered visitors a peek at the week’s artistic processes with presentations, performances in the city and in the Timelab adjacent to Vooruit.
