Vooruit-exe

Drie jaar geleden startte Vooruit met de studentenwerking 5 for students. We vinden het belangrijk om een nieuw publiek te zoeken in de zich jaarlijks vernieuwende groep Gentse studenten. Daarnaast willen we door intens contact met een kleine (representatieve) groep studenten leren hoe we de studenten best een leidraad en gids bieden in de rijke Vooruitagenda.

Three years ago, Vooruit created the student project 5 for students. We think it’s important to find a new audience among the ever-changing student population. Apart from that, we also want to learn from a small, representative group of students how we can guide this young audience through Vooruit’s varied offer.

Maandelijks komt een enthousiast studententeam samen om een top 5 samen te stellen uit het uitgebreide Vooruitaanbod. Zo zorgt het team ervoor dat hun medestudenten het bos door de bomen zien in de Vooruitkalender. Twee van de teamleden stellen de top 5 ook live voor op de Gentse studentenradio Urgent.fm.

Every month an enthusiastic student team meets up to compose a top 5 of shows in Vooruit. Like this, the team helps its fellow students to find their way in the host of activities. Two team members present the top 5 live on Ghent student radio Urgent.fm.

Vanaf dit jaar doen we daar nog een schepje bovenop. De studenten zullen ook optreden als een redactieteam: ze zullen artiesten en programmatoren interviewen, recensies schrijven over de voorstellingen in Vooruit, fotoreportages maken, … Dit alles posten ze op de interactieve Vooruitwebsite. Het project is te volgen via Vooruit.be/studenten.

This year, we’ll take the project to the next level. From now on, the students will also act as a team of editors: they will interview artists and programmers, write reviews of shows in Vooruit, take pictures, etc. All of this will be posted on Vooruit’s interactive website. Free for students We gaven net het startschot voor een nieuwe jaargang van 5 for students met de Free for students actie. We lieten op donderdag 25 september de Balzaal volstromen voor een gratis concert van Hit me TV en een gratis pils van Maes.

Free for students On Thursday the 25th of September we kicked off a new season of 5 for students with our Free for Students day. Students flocked to our Balzaal for a free concert by Hit me TV and a free Maes beer.
