Tijdens het Openingsweekend presenteren maar liefst drie artiesten/groepen hun nieuwe CD in Vooruit: Tribe (The Tribe Band), Kiss The Anus of a Black Cat (Stef Heeren) en Jóhann Jóhannsson.

No less than three artists/bands will present their albums in Vooruit during our opening weekend: Tribe (The Tribe Band), Kiss The Anus of a Black Cat (Stef Heeren) and Jóhann Jóhannsson.

The Tribe band, ontstaan uit het alom geprezen Troissoeur, stelt op 1 oktober een vierdubbele cd voor met eerder onuitgegeven opnames van Troisseur-projecten en nieuwe muziek uit de Tribe muziekwerkplaats. De groep mengt invloeden uit de folk, postrock en jazz en spiegelt zich graag aan iconen als Godspeed You!Black Emperor of Silver Mt Zion. Zie Thetribesite.com.

The Tribe Band, risen from the ashes of the widely acclaimed Troisseur, will present a quadruple album with previously unreleased recordings from Troisseur projects and new music from the Tribe workplace on the 1st of October. The band blends influences from folk, post-rock and jazz and sees icons such as Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Emperor of Silvers Mt Zion as their examples. Check out Thetribesite.com.

Ook Kiss The Anus of a Black Cat brengt een nieuwe plaat op de markt, The Nebulous dreams (Conspiracy records). Check Myspace.com/kisstheanusofablackcat om al een tip van de sluier van KTAOBC’s duistere mysterieuze folk op te lichten. Op 3 oktober treedt Stef Heerens KTAOABC op met Guapo als support, i.s.m. KRAAK.

Jóhann Jóhannsson (alom geliefd sinds het Britse label 4AD zijn cd Englaborn opnieuw uitbracht). Op zijn nieuwe cd, die pas op 3 november verschijnt, brengt hij een ode aan de utopie en de raketwetenschap, onder de titel Fordlândia. Op 4 oktober stelt hij zijn CD al aan het Vooruitpubliek voor. Om het sacrale karakter van Jóhannssons muziek perfect tot haar recht te laten komen, vindt het concert plaats in de Sint Barbarakerk (een akoestisch pareltje). Het concert is helemaal uitverkocht. Jóhann Jóhannsson has become immensely popular since British label 4AD re-released his album Englaborn. His new album, Fordlândia, which will only be released on the third of November, is an ode to the utopia and to rocket science. He’ll present the album to the Vooruit audience on the 4th of October. In order to do justice to the sacred character of Jóhannsson’s music, the concert will take place in the Saint Barbara church (an acoustic pearl). The concert is completely sold out.
