Twee podiumkunstenpremières op komst / Two stage premieres coming: De Koe / Eleanor Bauer
Op 28 februari gaat Compagnie De Koe in première met haar nieuwe voorstelling ‘Burgerlijke Ongehoorzaamheid’. Het is de jonge garde van het gezelschap die met deze voorstelling de wereld wil veranderen, in een vorm van aanstekelijk jeugdig enthousiasme. Met de film ‘Le charme discrèt de la bourgeoisie’ van cineast Luis Buñuel onder de arm wagen Stefaan Degand, Pol Geusens, Nico Sturm en Nick Timmermans zich aan die nobele taak.
The 28th of February 2008 will see the première of Compagnie De Koe’s new performance, ‘Burgerlijke Ongehoorzaamheid’. The company’s young guns want to change the world with this performance showcasing their contagious enthusiasm. Inspired by the film ‘Le charme discret de la bourgeoisie’ by Luis Buñuel, Stefaan Degand, Pol Geusens, Nico Strum and Nick Timmermans set out on their mission.
Vaste De-Koewaarde Peter Van den Eede verzorgt de coaching… De voorstelling werd al een tijdje geleden gemaakt, in het voorjaar van 2007. Maar de makers hadden reeds op voorhand besloten om niet meteen van try-outs naar première te hollen. Zo heeft de voorstelling een jaartje kunnen chambreren in hun aller hoofden. Vooruit biedt het gezelschap nog een week aan in Minard om de details bij te schaven aan wat ze zelf een surreëel en tragikomisch drama noemen…
Peter Van den Eede, one of De Koe’s household names, will coach the young actors. The play was completed quite a while ago, in the spring of 2007 to be precise. But the makers had decided in advance not to rush things. The show has now had a year to ripen in their heads. Vooruit offers them another week at Minard to fine-tune what they call a surrealist and tragicomic drama.
Na Compagnie De Koe ruimen we de Minardschouwburg snel snel op om Superamas te verwelkomen. Zij tonen er BIG 1, het eerste deel van hun trilogie die integraal op ons festival The Game is Up! Art for Sale (5 t.e.m. 15 maart 2008) te zien is.
After De Koe we’ll quickly clean up the Minard theatre for Superamas. They will be performing BIG1, the first part of their trilogy which will be shown in its entirety at our festival The Game is Up! Art for Sale (5 – 15 March 2008).
Verder gaat in dat festival de pas aan PARTS afgestudeerde choreografe en danseres Eleanor Bauer in première met haar eerste groepsvoorstelling ‘At Large’. Vorige week, tijdens het Amperdans festival in Antwerpen, kon iedereen al meedoen met een nieuwe populaire dansvorm die Eleanor en haar dansers ontwikkelden: scratching! Voor mij bleek het alsnog té moeilijk om deze streetdance onder de knie te krijgen, maar Eleanor is vastberaden om ‘scratching’ groots te lanceren op YouTube! Eleanor repeteert een halve week in Minard voor ze ‘At Large’ aan de wereld laat zien op 13 maart. Vooruit sprong zonder aarzelen mee in het bad als coproducent en premièreplek!
At that same festival, young choreographer Eleanor Bauer, who just graduated from PARTS, will present her first group project, ‘At Large’. At the Amperdans festival last week in Antwerp, everyone was invited to join in a new popular dance form developed by Eleanor and her dancers: scratching! This new street dance proved too difficult for me, but Eleanor is determined to launch scratching on YouTube. Eleanor will rehearse ‘At Large’ for a week in Minard before showing it to the public on the 13th of March. The show was co-produced by Vooruit and we are proud to host the première.
