Vooruit-exe

Van 6 tot 9 september heeft de tweede editie plaats van de Flemish Jazz Meeting. Gedurende vier dagen wordt de Belgische jazz in de schijnwerpers geplaatst voor nationale en vooral internationale critici, programmatoren en organisatoren. Het programma zal workshops, debatten, infosessies en natuurlijk concerten omvatten. Op de affiche staan tien groepen gekozen door een jury samengesteld uit de Belgische jazzscène (media, organisatoren en programmatoren zoals Wim Wabbes van Vooruit).

From the 6th until the 9th of September, the second edition of the Flemish Jazz Meeting will take place. For four days, the Belgian Jazz scene will be placed in the spotlight in front of national and international critics, programmers and event organisers. The programme will include workshops, debates, information sessions and, of course, concerts. On the bill: ten bands that have been handpicked by a jury composed of members of the Belgian jazz scene (media, event organisers and programmers such as Vooruit’s own Wim Wabbes).

Nieuw is dat enkele showcases toegankelijk zullen zijn voor iedereen. Meer informatie daaromtrent volgt in augustus!

Het gebeuren wordt op gang getrokken in Brugge – De Werf. Op zaterdag verplaatst de hele karavaan zich naar Gent voor een dag in Vooruit. Daar wordt de Flemish Jazz Meeting gekoppeld aan een bijeenkomst van het Europees netwerk EJN (Europe Jazz Network – een netwerk van jazzfestivals, clubs en aanverwante). Ook over EJN lees je hier binnenkort meer.

The meeting kicks off at De Werf in Bruges. On Saturday we move on to Vooruit, Ghent. Here, the Flemish Jazz Meeting will hook up with the Europe Jazz Network (a network for jazz festivals and clubs, among others) for their annual General Assembly. You’ll soon be able to read more information about EJN here as well.
