KTAOABC recordings, new (K-RAA-K)3 release
Kiss The Anus Of A Black Cat is de (on)welluidende naam voor het soloproject van de jonge Belgische muzikant en instrumentenbouwer Stef Heeren. Heeren tekent voor donkere folksongs met etnische instrumenten (bv. de tampura).
In augustus 2006 blikte KTAOABC in de Emielruimte van Vooruit de basis in van zijn tweede CD: akoestische gitaren, bas en zangpartijen. De andere instrumenten worden in het najaar op andere locaties opgenomen.
Kiss The Anus Of A Black Cat is the euphonious (or not) name of the solo project by the young Belgian musician and instrument-maker Stef Heeren. He makes dark folk songs using ethnic instruments (e.g. the tampura).
In August 2006 KTAOABC recorded the basis for its second CD in the Emiel Room at the Vooruit: acoustic guitars, bass and vocals. The other instruments will be recorded at other venues in the autumn.
Waarom Vooruit? Heerens budget is te beperkt om een studio te boeken. Maar bovenal is Heeren op zoek naar een organische sound. In Vooruit kan hij experimenteren met de invloed van locaties op het geluid, verschillende manieren van opnemen. De geluidstechnici van Vooruit begeleidden KTAOABC doorheen dat proces.
Het tweede album van KTAOABC zou te koop zijn in december 2006. Meer op de site van Gentse platenlabel (K-RAA-K)3.
De eerste KTAOABC-CD, If The Sky Falls, We Shall Catch Larks, werd enthousiast onthaald. Het Nederlandse muziektijdschrift OOR omschreef het album (in juni 2005) als een “fantastisch eigenzinnige product van deze Vlaamse anarchist met smaak en een mening (…) meeslepend en indrukwekkend.”
Why the Vooruit? Because Heeren’s budget is too restricted to hire a studio. But above all he is looking for an organic sound. In the Vooruit he is able to experiment with the influence of the location on the sound, and various recording methods. The Vooruit sound engineers guide KTAOABC through this process.

The first KTAOABC CD, If The Sky Falls, We Shall Catch Larks, was received enthusiastically. In June 2005, the Dutch music magazine OOR described the album as a ‘fantastically idiosyncratic product by this Flemish anarchist with taste and opinions … compelling and impressive.’
